Frequently Asked Questions
How does Insurancegripe work?
We gather complaint information from you based upon your responses to
our questions, and we
prepare a letter which you review. If the letter is
acceptable to you, you can mail it to the insurance
department within your state.
What happens after the letter is sent?
Most state insurance departments respond quickly. They will either
respond directly via e-mail or send you a letter
acknowledging the receipt of your complaint. They
will also generally advise you of their next steps.
Why should I use this service?
Most
consumers are not aware of the availability of their
state insurance department to resolve insurance
issues. In addition, it may be difficult to get
through to the insurance department via phone when
it is convenient for the consumer. Insurancegripe
makes it easy. You can complete our questions and
have the letter prepared at your convenience.
So, if you don't charge me anything, how do you make money?
When
you provide information via the complaint, this
information remains confidential unless you
specifically request us to do something with it....
such as refer you to an insurance agent.
We then take the complaint information that you have
provided and aggregate it with all of the other
complaints and use it to improve the services of the
companies that you have complained about. We do sell
the anonymously pooled information to the companies
you have complained about. However, we will never
release your personal information, un1ess you have
requested us to do so.
In some cases,
consumers may be unhappy with their insurance
company or insurance agency, and they would like to
switch their insurance to someone else. At your
request, we can attempt to refer you to a different
insurance agency to replace your insurance company.
But, only at your request.
No. Your letter is entirely confidential.
